Life Story: Hiki was basically a cute, gentle girl growing up. That is, when she was younger. Her mother and father raised her to be a nice, respectable little woman, who always remembered her manners and her "please"s and "thank you"s. In fact, the whole neighborhood seemed to like being around her influence. The parents noticed a slight, subtle change in their children after being around little Hiki, as if they were trying to copy her (as kids are apt to do).
Her parents weren't much of trainers. They had a couple of helpers out and about, especially a Machop named Kin'niku who helped with heavy lifting, and a pet Growlithe named Hibana. They'd been captured a while ago, but were now more of family members than anything else. Hiki wasn't used to wild Pokemon - until she saw her very first Pokemon battle when she was seven.
For a while, the prospect of these beasts making blizzards, wildfires, and thunderstorms scared her. But the more she thought about the whole "wild Pokemon" thing, the more she became enticed with their power and ability. Unbeknowest to her parents, she began sneaking out of her house to interact with the local Pidgey. And while she didn't care to capture them, the temptation of it grew greater. She liked them.
So one day she told her parents (politely, of course) of her fascination with Pokemon battling one another and becoming best friends with one... or more. At the least they didn't scorn her, and she began tuning her mind to planning the point in time when she would get her first Pokemon from Pallet Town.
Three days before her tenth birthday, she and her father left to Pallet Town. Now they're staying at a local residence, free of charge, until the time Hiki starts off on her Pokemon journey. She's already decided that she would choose a Bulbasaur...
